This bakery website design was the perfect fit for me as a designer. I have the biggest sweet tooth and as a former wedding planner, this project was a dream come true. To make it even better Elizabeth, the owner of Sweet Tales Cake Boutique, is so kind and gracious that I wished for more time together.
Elizabeth was referred to me by a local to her photographer that I have worked with for years. She is an extremely talented cake designer but knew that her brand and website were not sending the right message to clients. She had goals to attract a high-end clientele and she was ready for a makeover.
When chatting Elizabeth confided in me that her biggest fear in booking the project was cost, but she felt so much better going through the process and said it was worth every single penny.

Step 01. The Brand Foundation and Brand Identity Design
When I read through the brand foundation questionnaire Elizabeth shared, I was truly inspired. The thought and intention she puts behind every ingredient and design of her cakes are impeccable. She is inspired by the natural ingredients they grow (yes – they grow their own high-quality ingredients) and the time she puts into the design of each client’s cake is extraordinary.
We moved through this brand project with the strategy to start attracting the right clientele for the business that she has built. Before the rebrand, Elizabeth was attracting budget shoppers who didn’t value the care she put into the creations she and her team designed.
Together, we created a luxury brand that spoke to the client who valued the homegrown ingredients, the hours she spends decorating a cake that is as delicious as it is beautiful, the high-end experience she provides, and clients who value the role their cake plays at their event and it isn’t just a space holder because a party is supposed to have a cake.
Sweet Tales Cake Boutique’s branding visually communicates the romantic, natural, and luxury vibe that the brand is well known for.
Step 02. Marketing Materials and Brand Collateral
The next phase of Elizabeth’s project was starting the design process in creating the marketing materials and brand collateral she needed to elevate her client experience. Elizabeth really wanted her clients to feel like her service was a luxury and they were like family to her. Elizabeth wanted to clearly communicate the pricing of her cakes so price shoppers would know immediately that they were not in the right place and the clients who wanted a cake that was one-of-a-kind and a luxury experience would be able to budget what they were dreaming of.

Step 03. Custom ShowIt Website
The biggest transformation of this project was the custom ShowIt website we designed to present the luxury experience and Elizabeth’s care to source natural ingredients for her clientele.
The Sweet Tales Cake Boutique website went through an entire overhaul. Moving from Wix to ShowIt allows the design to really take on the elevated form and create an experience online that matched the high-end experience they have while working personally with the team.
I worked with Elizabeth to create a strategic flow that informed her client of her process, the care she puts into each cake, her own background, and of course the next steps and how to work with her.
This custom website was designed to tell her story, connect with her ideal client, and lead them through the website providing the right amount of information for them to reach out to book a call and inquire about her services.
