a website content roadmap for photographers

I have been in the game now for almost 10 years with Ally B Designs but I have been designing professionally for over 20 years. Here is a secret about me, I still get nervous when I have some potential clients reach out to me. That is exactly what happened with Samantha from Lemon and the Sea – Strategic Web Design inquired about my branding services.

Just the possibility of working with another designer made my nerves jump. I start thinking “oh my – I have to do a really good job” or “what if they don’t like it and they think I am a terrible designer”. While I am pretty darn confident in my design skills I still get anxious and probably a bit awkward on the call to see if we will be a good fit. But Samatha still wanted to work with me! Yay! Bless her soul!

To point out the obvious Samantha is a web designer herself so the custom package Lemon and the Sea Branding project that we curated for her included:

  1. Brand Foundation and Brand Identity Design
  2. Template Design for any Opt-Ins she may launch
  3. Social Media Sharing Card
  4. Business Card
  5. Thank You Card

Step 01. The Brand Foundation and Brand Identity Design

The first step in the branding process is to design the brand foundation including the color palette, brand elements, and font selection. Then I set out to design the brand identity and present my clients with a style tile so they can see how it will all work together and flow cohesively.

Step 02. Marketing Materials and Brand Collateral

Once the brand foundation was designed and approved, we were ready to start designing the additional assets to create a cohesive client experience. Samantha wanted to be able to make any updates she needed and design many different opt-ins from the template. So I designed 5 base pages that would be used in an ebook design and she is able to copy and paste and design as needed for whatever she launches next.

We also included the design of brand stationery so she could send personalized notes to her clients because we all know that snail mail is where it’s at! (or at least that’s where it’s at for me 🤣)

Working with Samantha was a dream and I a so thankful to be the designer she selected to create her branding.
